‘The Reversed Path’ competing in Indian Third Eye Asian fest

Iranian film ‘The Reversed Path’ has been in the running at the 19th Third Eye Asian Film Festival.

Iranian feature film ‘The Reversed Path’ has been in the running at the 19th Third Eye Asian Film Festival underway at the Ravindra Natya Mandir Mini Theatre in Prabhadevi, India.  

Abolfazl Jalili’s ‘The Reversed Path’ is currently competing in the official section of the festival, which will run until December 18.

The 98-minute ‘The Reversed Path’, also known as ‘The Contrary Route’, is about 17-year-old Emkan who has not seen his father for many years and his mother works the late night shift in a factory.

Emkan has a small recording camera and he decides to make a film to give a twist to his routine life. Although he is not very proficient, he still tries his best to achieve his goal.

The cast list of ‘The Reversed Path’ includes Mahdiyar Asghari, Masoud Naji, and Pouyan Shokri.

The film went on screen at some global events, including the Beijing International Film Festival in China, the Jaipur International Film Festival in India, the Asian Film Festival Barcelona in Spain, the Iranian Cinema Festival of Chantilly in France, and the Shanghai International Film Festival in China, where it won the awards for Best Director and Best Actor.

The 30th “Love Is Folly” International Film Festival in Bulgaria and the 44th Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF) in Russia also hosted the flick.

Iranian short flick ‘I’m not Alice but here is Wonderland’ is also presenting Iran at this year’s edition of the Indian film festival.

The Third Eye Asian Film festival awards filmmakers who make efforts to popularize Asian cinema in the world.

The festival promotes Asian cinema using multi-pronged approach of cultural activities.
